Some Factory Interiors products list Fisher Body style codes in the Features & Benefits section. These 5-digit codes were used by GM and Fisher Body to identify the exact model, series, and body style of a vehicle. Use this guide to confirm the correct fitment for your car.

How to read a Fisher Body code

Every Fisher Body code is made up of two parts:

[Series Prefix] + [Body Style Suffix] = Full Style Code

Example: 38437
38 = Oldsmobile 98 series (C-body)
437 = 2-door hardtop coupe
38437 = Oldsmobile 98 2-door hardtop coupe

The first digit always identifies the GM division:
1 = Chevrolet | 2 = Pontiac | 3 = Oldsmobile | 4 = Buick | 6 = Cadillac

Body style suffix codes

These suffixes were shared across all GM divisions. The last two digits of any Fisher Body code identify the body style.

All Chevrolet Fisher Body codes begin with 1. The second and third digits identify the model series.

Pontiac (prefix: 2)

All Pontiac Fisher Body codes begin with 2. Pre-1973 codes follow the standard numeric format. From 1973 onward, Firebird codes use a letter-based format: Division (2) + Body Type (F=Firebird) + Series Letter + Body Style (87=coupe).
